Via ferrata of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans - Section 1

The frothing, turquoise blue waters of the Véneon river, an airy, swinging footbridge, a varied and well thought-out route, a few athletic parts, together with some wonderfully exposed sections, make this a classic via ferrata route. It consists of 2 sections.

The 1st section is an athletic, no-escape route for skilled via ferratists. The 2nd section is accessible to children aged 6 and over!

This 1st section offers a very varied and fun route through the cliffs.
The start immediately sets the mood: a small rocky bar overhanging the tumultuous Vénéon... You then climb to a footbridge with a strong roll reminiscent of bridges from the depths of Colombia. You climb over a pretty ledge, then slabs, before rejoining the road to Saint-Christophe en Oisans.

To continue on the 2nd part of the via ferrata to the Vierge du Collet, simply cross the road and take the start.
The rest is a separate itinerary for little calves eager to get to grips with the rock face (30 min). From the age of 6, children can put on a harness and learn to move along the cable without apprehension: escape routes allow you to shorten the climb if you feel tired.

Park at the Via finish and walk down the road to the start of the Via.
Park at the Via arrival point and take the shuttle bus up to Plan du Lac in St Christophe.
Park at the Plan du Lac bridge, walk about 800m down the road and take the shuttle bus back.
