The Adèle Planchard refuge on ski touring

A classic ski touring route in a high mountain setting. Between wild valleys, vast snow-covered slopes, and iconic peaks, the ascent to the refuge promises an authentic experience, reserved for those who enjoy challenging routes.

From the Arsine lake, the route begins with a steady climb at the bottom of the valley, following the Romanche river through open, unspoiled countryside. After a relatively gentle start that allows you to build up gradually, the route climbs towards Plan de l'Alpe, where the landscape becomes more rocky.

The climb then continues towards the upper valley dominated by the area's iconic peaks, notably the Grande Ruine and the Agneaux. Depending on snow conditions and the stability of the snowpack, the route requires a good understanding of the terrain and mastery of high-mountain ski touring techniques. The arrival at the Adèle Planchard refuge offers a remarkable panorama of the Écrins massif and is a privileged starting point for many alpine tours.
