The Montée Étoilée in Villard-Reculas

The Montée Etoilée, or Starlight Climb, is an uphill ski-touring race held at sunset.

You'll have to climb the Villard-Reculas slopes alone to reach the summit of Le Signal. 600m of ascent by headlamp on the steep slopes.

Pick up your number at 2pm.
The race starts from Place Bernard Barlerin at 6.30pm.

Start: Villard Reculas 1500m
Finish: Sommet du Signal 2100m

Timed ascent: D+600m
Refreshments at the finish

The descent is not part of the race and follows the same itinerary. It should be done at a moderate pace, taking into account the participants and the weather conditions.

Saturday March 21, there will be :

The timed race is open to adults with a medical certificate stating that they are not contraindicated to ski touring in competition, or a FFME license. For those who want to compete, challenge themselves and win.

And ...

Discovery activities, open to all under your own responsibility, with no ranking. For those who want to try out a racing atmosphere, test their ski touring skills and have fun. Minors accepted with parental consent.

Registration for the discovery event is open until 4pm at the Villard-Reculas tourist office. A fee of 8€ will be charged. This must be paid on site when you pick up your number, by cheque or cash.
